-The tenor from Turin has just made his debut at the Vienna Staatsoper de and will also sing La Gioconda in Barcelona
Having had his dream of making his debut at the Vienna Staatsoper come true – last December with Madama Butterfly–, the Italian tenor Andrea Carè is now preparing for his return to the Théâtre Royale de La Monnaie / De Munt in Brussels with Ponchielli´s La Gioconda. Performances take place on the 30th January and the 3rd, 6th and 10th February. Carè made his debut in the role of Enzo Grimaldi, the male lead of the opera, at the China National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing in 2016, in the premiere of a new production by Pierluigi Pizzi conducted by Daniel Oren. He will begin the year by taking the role again in the Belgian capital in an Olivier Py production conducted by Paolo Carignani, sharing the stage with Béatrice Uria-Monzon and Scott Hedricks.
Later, in April, Andrea Carè will take the same role in his return to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona (2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th and 14th April), alongside talents such as Anna Pirozzi and Carlo Colombara, among others.
