José Miguel Pérez-Sierra continues with his international engagements, this time returning to the Opéra-Théâtre Metz Métropole to conduct the absolute masterpiece of French repertoire, the legendary and popular Carmen by Bizet. The Madrid born conductor returns to the city of Metz after a huge triumph at the Opéra de Massy, also in France, with Verdi´s Rigoletto. On this occasion Pérez-Sierra will see out the French opera house´s season by conducting a production directed by Paul-Émile Fourny, artistic director of the company, with an entirely French cast including Mireille Lebel as Carmen, Gabrielle Philiponet as Micaëla and Sébastien Guèze as Don José.
Among other upcoming engagements, which include both symphonic repertoire and opera, José Miguel Pérez-Sierra will soon conduct Mathilde di Shabran at the Rossini Festival in Wildbad (Germany), L’italiana in Algeri at the Ópera Nacional de Chile and La Cenerentola at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania (Italy).
