-The Spanish tenor will sing in the Donizetti opera alongside Olga Peretyatko

The new production of Gaetano Donizetti´s Anna Bolena at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège (Belgium) will open on the 9th April. It is directed by Stefano Mazzonis di Pralafera, and is a co-production of the Royal Opera House of Muscat (Oman), the Opéra de Lausanne (Switzerland) and ABAO Ópera Bilbao que cuenta. The tenor from Tenerife, Celso Albelo, will take the male lead role, alongside Olga Peretyatko in the title role (performances are on the 9th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 20th April). The Spanish singer, who is a specialist in Romantic bel-canto repertoire and a master of Donizetti operas, made his debut in the role of Lord Percy at the Vienna Staatsoper in April 2015 alongside Anna Netrebko.   A month later he performed the same opera again in Tenerife, this time with Mariella Devia in the title role.

After his appearance in Belgium, among other engagements, Celso Albelo will take the role of the libertine Duca di Mantova in Rigoletto (Verdi) at the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia (May), a character which he will later take on tour in Japan (Nagoya, Ōtsu and Tokyo) with the Teatro Comunale Company (Bologna, Italy) before, performing Guillaume Tell (Rossini) in the early summer at the Les Chorégies d’Orange Festival (France).
