-The Italian tenor will sing Madama Butterfly at the main Vienna opera house
The Italian tenor Andrea Carè has already performed in Helsinki and Stockholm this new season, and in December he will be making his debut at one of the most important shrines to opera in the world, the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera). He will be taking the role of Pinkerton, for which he has received great acclaim, in Madama Butterfly (Puccini, performances on the 1st, 3rd and 7th December). The singer who, hails from Turin, explains that he is eagerly awaiting the time when he will “first tread the boards at one of the most important theatres in the world, the Vienna Opera House.” Opera-goers in the Austrian capital will be able to hear him singing one of the roles that has made him famous, which he performed for the first time in 2010 in Finland and which he has also sung in cities in Italy, Canada and Spain.
Later the Italian will return to the Théâtre Royale de La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels with La Gioconda (29th, 30th January, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th February), an opera which he will perform again in April when he returns to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.
