– The Italian mezzo will sing in Faust in Madrid after giving a recital in the Música para Noches de Verano (Music for Summer Nights) cycle of concerts in Zaragoza
After opening two consecutive seasons at La Scala in Milan in Madama Butterfly and Andrea Chénier, the Italian mezzo-soprano Annalisa Stroppa will participate in the opening of the season at the Teatro Real in Madrid as Siebel in Gounod´s Faust in a La Fura dels Baus production, which will be the first opera of the season at the Madrid opera house (20th, 23rd, 27th and 30th September and 3rd and 6th October). Previously, on the 1st September, Stroppa will make her debut in Zaragoza in the Música para Noches de Verano concert cycle which the Aragonese regional government holds in Zaragoza. The cycle is organised by the Ópera Aragón association in order to promote international level opera singing inthe region. Annalisa Stroppa will perform arias from opera and songs by Ravel, Massenet, Bizet, Granados, Rossini, Donizetti in the Museum of Zaragoza, alongside the pianist Aurelio Viribay. She has also included a romanza from a zarzuela by Luna, “De España vengo”, from El niño judío.
Stroppa recently triumphed in the title role of the opera Carmen at Las Palmas Opera in Grand Canary, and she will be taking the role again this summer at the Bregenz Festiva (Austria) in the Kasper Holten production in which she premiered last summer.
In upcoming engagements the acclaimed Italian mezzo will be Adalgisa in Norma at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and Nicklausse in Les contes d’Hoffmann at the San Carlo in Naples.
